The pack and troop were founded in 1999 when the parish ands school first opened. The unit number 7153 was chosen based on the birth years for the St Brigid pastor and Holy Redeemer Principal  (1971, 1953).

Troop 7153 is chartered out of St. Brigid Catholic Church and is a ministry of St. Brigid Catholic Church and meets at Holy Redeemer Catholic School and St. Brigid depending on availability and event types.  Although many of our Scouts and leaders are Catholic Scouting welcomes boys of all faiths. Our Unit is a recipient of the Annual Pope Paul VI Unit Award "National Catholic Unit Excellence Award".
