The pack and troop were founded in 1999 when the parish and school first opened. The unit number 7153 was chosen based on the birth years of the St. Brigid pastor and Holy Redeemer Principal (1971 and 1953).

Troop 7153 is chartered out of St. Brigid Catholic Church and is a ministry of the parish, meeting at both Holy Redeemer Catholic School and St. Brigid depending on availability. Although many of our Scouts and leaders are Catholic, Scouting welcomes boys of all faiths.

Awards & Recognition

Our unit received the Pope Paul VI National Catholic Unit Excellence Award in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Troop 7153 was also awarded the Chaplain's Cup (2023) and Bishop's Trophy (2024 & 2025) by the Archdiocese of Atlanta's Catholic Committee on Scouting (AACCOS).
